Political leaders are at last joining with scientists to say that climate change is the most important issue of our times. The Stern Review, commissioned by the UK Treasury and published in November 2006, stresses that the scientific evidence is now overwhelming, and that an urgent response is needed to counter the threat of runaway global warming.
